Edward (Ed) Valenzuela

Representing: Local Government

 

Ed Valenzuela District 2 Supervisor for Siskiyou County is a native Californian and grew up in the city of San Leandro. Ed graduated with a Business Administration degree while attending night school and working for the phone company. Later, while working for AT&T, Ed secured a “chance of a lifetime” transfer to a small northern California town of Mt. Shasta. Here he and his wife Barbara, raised their two children and call Mt. Shasta their “little slice of heaven” hometown.In Mt. Shasta Ed felt a sense of community service and ran for city council. He served eight years as a Mount Shasta City Councilman before he was elected County Supervisor in 2008.

In 2010 Ed retired from AT&T after 32 years of service. Dedicated to his job as County Supervisor, he focuses on listening to his constituents and keeping an open mind while making decisions that are in the best interest of Siskiyou County. He serves as a board member and treasurer of the California State Association of Counties as a commissioner for Local Agency Formation Committee and a board member of Public Service Area 2 Agency on Aging. Ed is an avid baseball and hockey fan and follows his Bay Area teams. He loves growing tomatoes and gardening, hiking, kayaking, fishing, and playing poker.
